Got a junk newsletter in the mail last week for Mangosteen Juice. It\’s laid out like a newspaper, with headlines and articles, but there are no bylines. As such, I can\’t vouch for its accuracy, but some of the claims are quite interesting:

* Mangosteen Juice is More Than Unique
* We need to begin consuming xanthone-rich mangosteen juice now.
* Research from Medical universities all over the world show the xanthones in the mangosteen contains elements that _literally_ help to correct and kill many diseases that occur today.
* Mangosteen is DEFINITELY a Product for LIFE and GOOD HEALTH

On the second page, a box lists a few of the health benefits of this \”Queen of Fruits\”:
* Antitumor and cancer preventive
* Antiviral – prevents or modulates bacterial infections
* Antidepressant
* Antiarthritic – helps prevent arthritis
* Anticataract – prevents cataracts

Wow, this sounds pretty good. And on top of everything, there\’s an offer on the back for the \”Magic Wand System,\” in which I can market and sell Mangosteen juice to others. Any offer for quick financial gain that has the words \”Magic Wand\” in it must really be foolproof.

Of course, despite the long list of benefits and diseases that Mangosteen \”prevents or modulates,\” there\’s a disclaimer on the back that says, \”This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or _prevent_ and disease.\”
Heh.
