Mel and Jesus: Hitched

Don\’t miss Christopher Hitchens\’s flogging of Mel Gibson\’s \”The Passion of the Christ.\”

I haven\’t seen it yet (I\’m waiting for my $8.50 lottery ticket to win), but I think I will, eventually. About Hitchens\’s critique: one thing I always like about his writing is his unfearing willingness to opine bluntly on almost any subject. It takes a lot of intellectual courage (or maybe arrogance) to take such steep sides on every issue. You have to either know a lot about a lot of things, or hope no one calls your bluff.

Hitchens\’s writing is so strong that you\’d have to be very, very confident of your rebuttal to call him on it.

Not so with me; I write about Nintendo – and in a queasy, wishy-washy way. Call me on it if you like, I\’ll gladly retract anything I\’ve written.
